Bring an unexpired state driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID. The name on the ID should match the name on the document.

The unsigned document
Do not sign the document beforehand. The notary must witness the signature for documents that require a witnessed signature.
Additional signers
Every signer must be present at the same time and must bring their own valid photo ID.
Required witnesses
If your document requires witnesses, have them present with valid ID. Ask the receiving party whether witnesses are needed before the appointment.
Limits
What I cannot do
- Cannot give legal advice or tell you which document you need.
- Cannot notarize a document that is incomplete or has blank spaces.
- Cannot notarize for a signer who cannot be identified or does not appear to understand what they are signing.
- Cannot notarize her own documents or any document she has an interest in.
